Bankruptcy   Not the End. . . But a Fresh Start

Ted Taggart really made this scary process not so scary and I’m sure he saved me a lot of money. He treated me with respect and was professional but very down to earth, too.

Famous and Great People who have filed Bankruptcy

I have never met a single client who was happy about filing bankruptcy.  We are ingrained to view it as a personal failure and I certainly understand this.  But bad luck, unfortunate decisions and bad timing can happen to the best of us.  But remember bankruptcy is not designed to be punishment.  It’s supposed to be fresh start, that is designed to dust you off and give you a little push back into the game of life.

Never, ever forget that just because you are down now, that does not mean you have to stay down.   And bankruptcy can be the first step back to the top.  Look at the following list of people.  Each of these famous and/or great people each got a fresh start, without which many could not have obtained the great heights that they achieved. I tried to throw a little humor in there…but the point is that bankruptcy was not the end of the world for these people and it won’t be for you.

Walt Disney: So would Mickey Mouse exist if there were no bankruptcy? Goofy probably would.

Abraham Lincoln:  If Honest Abe could do it, anyone can do it

Thomas Jefferson:  With Honest Abe, that’s half of Mount Rushmore

Johnny Unitas:  One of the all-time NFL Greats

Willie Nelson: He got on the road again

Elton John:  He rocketed to the top afterwards

Larry King: Never heard one of his guest bring it up

Ulysses S. Grant: When combined with Honest Abe, wonder if North still would have won without bankruptcy

Mark Twain:  Even America’s greatest wit needed a fresh start

Bjorn Borg: BK was not game, set,  match for him

Henry Ford:  Could he have found the capital needed for the Model T without it?

P.T. Barnum:  The show did go on

Francis Ford Coppola:  He got an offer he could not refuse

Sherman Hemsley: Afterwards, he was movin on up

Oscar Wilde:  Not sure he ever learned to live within his means because he had lots of imagination but I am sure his fresh start helped his famous wit
