Bankruptcy   Not the End. . . But a Fresh Start

Ted Taggart really made this scary process not so scary and I’m sure he saved me a lot of money. He treated me with respect and was professional but very down to earth, too.

Means Test Table (Colorado)

Consult the following table to see if you meet the means test.  Remember, that while the table presents annual numbers, the means is calculated with the last six months of actual income. Also, note this table the means test varies slightly by county.  Summit County for example would be higher

                                     Household Size
One     Two Three Four Each Additional member
Means Test   $48,598 $64,679 $70,861 $83,976 $7,500
Last Six months Income   $24,299 $32,340 $35,431 $41,988 $45,738

So, if you are a household of one and you made less than $24,299 over the last six months, you would qualify for a Chapter 7.  Likewise, if you were in a household of three and the total household income was only $35,000 you qualify for a Chapter 7.

And what if you were a household of one and made $24,300 or one dollar over the means test. Does that one extra dollar mean you have to make monthly payments for five years? Not necessarily and probably not if you have a decent attorney.  Click here to see how and why you might still be a Chapter7.
